20 Inch Alloys

Featured Replies

Hey all I’m looking to change my alloys to RS6 style alloys could anyone tell me if the below will fit my 2019 sportline plus 272 4x4 estate?

FRONT 20"X9J ET35 REAR 20"X9J ET35

5X112

CENTRE BORE 66.6

Centre bore is too big, it's possible to use spigot rings to reduce it, but I prefer to get the exact right fit to begin personally.

Thanks mate - do you know what the centre bore should be?

Was 20" ever offered in any market?

I thought 8Jx19 was as far as skoda ever offered, so going to a 9J wheel width at your own risk I guess. Happy for anyone to correct me...

The below link shows rims up to 19" for the Superb MK3.

There was a guy who tuned his 280PS Superb MK3 up to 560PS with 0-60mph in well under 3.5 seconds. He was on 235/45R18 tyres in the summer and 215/55R17 tyres in the winter.

The center bore and the width being different to OEM are not an issue. Most aftermarket alloys (branded ones too) come in limited (or even in just one) CB diameters but using the correct spigot rings allows them to be fitted to most cars.
The spigot ring is not what keeps the wheel in place (the wheel bolts pre-load takes care of that), its function is to absorb any vibrations and prevent big shocks due to the clearance which is formed between the wheel hub diameter and the aftermarket alloy's diameter.

In general, 20" fit great in the Superb's massive arches. 9.0J in itself is not a problem but the width combo of 9J & ET35 will push the wheels out by 21.7mm in total which is almost flush (if not exactly flush) so you might have some issues there.

Either 8.5J ET35+ or 9.0J ET40+ would be safer.

What I would worry though is the quality and safety risks associated with cheap replicas, as well the weight disadvantage such alloys usually bring.

Thanks so much for this! I’ll be honest this is the first time I’ve ever bought none OEM alloys! If you were me where would you look to find 8.5J ET35+ or 9.0J ET40+ Alloys - it’s all a bit confusing to me!! 🙃

Any alloy shop really will have those more suitable size combos, for example something like:

https://www.wheelbasealloys.com/

Now apart from such shops that sell all different brands, you can check specific alloy brands websites to see if you find the design (and size) that you're after, really lots of them to choose from, Ispiri is just an example:

https://www.iwautomotive.com/

Just keep in mind that 20" is a big size so to get anything of decent quality and strength you should be looking at 1000 GBP minimum I'd say.

Everything said above, plus the extra unsprung weight will be bad for performance, so you want the lightest set you can, https://www.wheelbasealloys.com/alloy-wheels/oz-racing/ultraleggera-hlt/silver/20-inch

With pirelli p zeros about £3.5k. Or as you said you wanted the audi look, seek out the mags (made of magnesium so super light) that were an rs4 or rs6 option if I remember.
