Front window not closing, bounces down as if something is stuck

Featured Replies

Front right window is having this problem. I assume this is a safety feature of the window in case someone has their head out etc, I've cleaned around all the rubber seals I can see on the front and back of the window but no real difference. Is there any known remedies to this? Or a specific seal that's known to cause this sort of issue?  I can get the window to go the whole way up if I do it in small steps or if I give it a helping hand!

Thanks!

Usually the system just needs a reset, It's something like this depending on car / year etc , someone will be along with exact way for your car soon but ...

Disconnect battery for 2 mins. Re-connect. Fully open and close window a couple of times but keep your finger on the button when it hits the stops for a couple of seconds so system learns where its fully open and fully shut and won't rebound from those points again.

@VRS_White_Hatch Sorry updated my original post there, its definately something sticky, if I help it close (pulling it up as its closing) it will close fine. Im assuming something is rubbing/sticking on it with enough resistance for it to think theres something stuck in it.

Irrespective of what is causing the problem, until you fix the cause you can still close (or open) the window as follows:

Press the window switch until it "bounces" (finger protection) then within 2 seconds press and hold the switch again.

This is normally shown in the driver's handbook.
