New Remote Fob - 315 or 434 MHz

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm looking to buy a new remote fob so I can have a spare key (only got 1 at the moment). How do I determine if I need a 315MHz or 434MHz one? I see both listed on eBay for MK1s. Mine is an 02 52 Combi

I think 434 is the answer, but if you take apart your current key/fob, you should find the info printed on it somewhere, e.g.

Go for 433, 315 is for other markets, such as Singapore, Taiwan, Japan...

Will you have to get the transponder chip for the immobiliser coded? I assume the 434 just refers to the remote locking frequency.

Do you have a flip key or a key key? Not that that should make a difference, should be 434MHz.

It's a key key, 2 button remote that detaches from the key part to replace the battery
