Facelift splitters

Featured Replies

Anyone know of a splitter or bodykit for a Facelift SportLine? Maxton have, rather oddly, decided to base the facelift front splitter on the standard bumper and not the SportLine one which is annoying. I did email them to ask about SportLine fitment but they weren’t helpful. So with the facelift having been out a good 18 months (and Maxton already having done a styling kit for the Mk4 vRS, showing they aren’t slow) does anyone know of another supplier doing styling additions for the newer Superb SportLine? The Rieger one is growing on me but it means dealing with online autosport to get one in the UK and I can’t be bothered with them after my Rieger rear diffuser order for the Octy. Thanks everyone :D

Did you have a look on superskoda.com ?

I did, they only have their copy of the Maxton one which is for the non SportLine which I think is just such an odd decision as I’ve yet to see a splitter (or hear of demand for one) on a non SportLine car.

there is no difference between a Sportline front bumper and a non-Sportline front bumper.

the difference is in the bumper trims (chrome vs black).

it is certainly the case for the pre-Facelift.

pretty sure its the same for the Facelift too.

The Facelift SportLine bumper certainly is different unfortunately

The Maxton site shows a car with a piece of bumper sticking out like this but the car is a non SportLine and they have neither confirmed nor denied when I asked directly via email that their splitter fits the SportLine, they just said ‘they fit the cars we state they fit’ which isn’t helpful as they don’t state that it does or doesn’t fit the SportLine. It’s also annoying that they do a rear lip for for the hatch and the non SportLine but not the SportLine which is the trim level more likely to be chosen by someone who would want a lip spoiler.

If the sportline is the only model with the stick-out wedge, does their website not show it fitted to a FL sportline?

Second post to hopefully be more helpful. Here's a UK IV L&K and a UK sportline plus. That's surely the same bumper on both adverts and the maxton site

Yeah the L&K does seem to share the SportLine Plus bumper and rear diffuser now and the Maxton splitters appear to show the sticky out bits but as Maxton refuse to answer a simple question over what cars their product is designed to fit I can’t take the risk. Rieger advertise the splitter as fitting the SportLine and show it as such but I’m not a fan of how much it sticks out at the sides in some of the pics. If Maxton would confirm fitment or I could return one to a UK distributer without charge I would be ok. They have some clearance ones in and they are non returnable but if they fit then I’d go for one as I do prefer the Maxton v1. Might take the risk.

I did a camera fitting on an SE-L and it doesn’t have the sticky out bits hence my worry.

You're right the SEL doesn't have the wedge. I'd wager the maxton photo is on an L&K. I'd further wager the undersides of all bumpers are the same, the L&K and the SL+ just have a wedge that doesn't affect the mounting points of that splitter?

It probably is on an L&K and there’s every chance the splitter is cross compatible but I’d like to know for sure before committing to £150 odd with the postage, especially if it isn’t going to fit as I can’t imagine the market will be big for it if it doesn’t fit a SportLine. Would have appreciated a clearer reply from Maxton really, would have answered my question and I could have moved on!

If you're in the market of fitting accessories maybe snoop under the bumpers of the next few customers to work out if they're the same? Or take a look at eBay parts listings?

Originally I thought why would you bother, but after seeing the photo on the maxton site, it looks pretty good!

Considering how the splitter is fitted there, I would even bet that the extra 'wedge' doesn't actually play a role in fitment..

Maxton definitely do a facelift front

They do, but they won’t confirm it fits the SportLine model but it appears the L&K also has the same bumper with the sculpted bottom bit so it’s on the list :)

I think those splitters look great.

But, what about those huge bloody speed bumps? 🤷🏻‍♂️

They do fit as I’ve got one on mine, mines a 20 plate sportline, there’s absolutely no issues with it at all and fits like a dream. I’ll try and upload a photo later
