Just received the following email.(attached)

Tried to call the dealership to amend the order. To add Pano roof and variable boot floor. Was informed was not possible.

 

Is that true? Anyway around this?

There are various stages, an once accepted by the factory orders lock (from memory about 3 weeks before).   The status will depend on numeric code indicating progress.
 

Has this email come from dealer, Skoda uk, or the factory.   
 

Not totally clear what factory status is, and if it can’t be altered, or if it could and dealership can’t be bothered.   It is also not clear why you want to add them in middle of Easter weekend and haven’t done so a week or so ago.

 

Not sure about the Octavia mk4 but it used to be possible on earlier versions to add the variable floor as an accessory.

It was from Skoda UK.

Was waiting for an email from dealership to confirm my intial order. Just got the email from Skoda UK today and so rang the dealership. Only really decided to add Pano roof this week.

 

Dealer informed build date is week 23. Think we are on week 13

It used to be status 10 means order accepted, and you could usually make changes up until changed to status 20. This means no changes and your order is locked into line to be built the suggested week. Build week 23 is quite a while away (June 7th I think). Although I don't know 100% for sure @SnoopstaVRS if this is still the case. 

 

Best bet it to contact Skoda yourself on the live chat thing or give them a ring. I had the same email as you 6 days after putting my order in, since then I've had changeable dates for buildweek.

It’s amazing you guys getting build weeks full stop. My order was accepted 10th Feb, still no build week allocated🤷🏻‍♂️ And that’s confirmed from Skoda, with no ETA of a build week being allocated either. 

Man that sucks @Skodev, I hope you have an update soon. It makes no sense why things the way they are! 

 

To echo the point from @SurreyJohn @SnoopstaVRS, it used to be when near build week that you couldn't make changes. My build week is 15 for example, so I can't make changes. So what "near" means might have changed, as the factory tries to keep up/catch up with demand. Clear disclaimer: all guess work!
