Individual driving mode

Featured Replies

Dear all,

I should receive my RS DSG... in next 2-3 weeks, however this question is killing me, so I have to ask.

1. Driving mode defaults always to normal mode, after restarting car? correct?

2. Individual mode, what options/settings can be saved there?

3. driver profile? how this works? what can be saved there?

4. as well it might be that every region has different default settings?

I mentioned before, that I like to drive not top be driven, so my perfect way would be= no start/stop, lane assist =off, emergency stop=off,

so can either of these(user profile, driving mode) save any of these options?

I would not be very happy if every time I want to drive I have to go through multiple settings.

Please do not explain why any of these aids are there or why they are important, that is not my question.

Appreciate all answers.

1. correct
2. sound, suspension, steering, DSG, air conditioning,...could be I forgot something
3. This is the profile from Skoda connect. You have a main user and you can also have guests. For example if more than one person drives the car. Things like seat position, mirrors, driver cockpit, air conditioning,..are saved.
4. I never heard of anything like that. In all reviews and on all forums Normal driving mode is selected every time you start the car.

Start/stop is always switched on after you start the car. Currently this can't be changed. The same goes with lane assist. It is also turned on every time you start the car. (this can be changed with coding but you need someone with the access to Skoda servers to get the token).  Emergency stop....I'm pretty sure this is also enabled every time you start the car but I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks,

We will be two drivers, I suppose to be driving more, but it would be nice to have some kind of settings, that can be saved, so if we switch its easy, that is the reason I got memory seats.

So to turn off all these aids for me, is to have them up in quick settings menu and then just click them all before driving.
I will try to drive with them ON, but from my friends experience, who has regular octavia, he had couple 'wow' moments, for example, going over speedbumps car is signaling(parking sensors, music stops obviously as well), if speed is above something its fine if its less then it can brake too, lane assist just flashing and steering wheel vibrating, nothing extreme there. But for me these things would drive me crazy.

That being said few years ago in shop parking there was a woman who almost hit me with car, while I was walking to my car, since she was too busy with her mobile phone, plenty 'situations' from drivers changing lanes while checking Instagram.. that is the reason we have these aids now

The mirror and seat positions settings saved are fantastic. I am about 30cm taller than my wife so having the seat move is ideal. I'm frustrated that the Drive Mode isn't saved in the driver profile, would be so nice to just get in a drive with it set how I want it.

Lane Assist isn't so bad - worth driving with it on for a while. I disabled the steering wheel vibrate, just get a little resistance on the wheel if I drift to the edge of the lane (and if I let it, it will correct). It also works with the ACC in detecting vehicles in the lane you are in and not those you are overtaking.

Interestingly I have had mine about 1 month and have already adapted my motorway driving to use the various Assists - rather than letting them drive me I am using them in my driving.

forgot to ask, can these profiles be saved on car keys? meaning, my key my profile other key other drivers profile?

As I understand it, Yes; though so far I have only set up one key with the seat memory etc.

It needs a second user to log in to the car and that is associated with the second key (the guest user can’t save personalisations).

Thanks bud.

There are 10 years old cars that handle these things, different keys different seat and mirror profiles etc.

If 2021 car cant handle that then it is disappointing

I will see that very very soon :notme:

I appreciate all your inputs on this topic.

Mine is at dealers already, just now accepted lease terms, yesterday got my custom license plate, I hope to get car on Friday, hopefully they can prep the car in one day.

I am excited, first time new car.

Not nervous, just kinda preparing myself that there will be some things I will hate about that car:

Stance of the car- my friends comment on picture of my car(''is this allroad option?'') it should be sports car so it should be lowered properly from factory, same with spacers, tires do not look in place, wheels look ugly in my opinion, so my plan is to get proper wheels an maybe some spacers, to fix that ugly stance.
all these assists will be frustrating for me.

current car has none of that, even ESP is off by default, so if I want to have rubber smell I can have it every time.

But in the end I really hope that engine and dsg will make me smile, and if not then they do remap very well, but that needs to be done properly so that dealer does not void warranty

I will for sure post my impressions here, once i drive the car

@janis I’m excited for you. First new car is something special

Hopefully you’ll get it tomorrow and can enjoy it over the weekend...

Nice. So it's almost yours.

About the height...maybe your friend saw it with the transport spacers still in place? This is how mine looked before they prepped the car. :D

I like it being a bit higher than other sports cars. So I can use it also on some worse roads and I don't need to worry to hit every bump on the streets. With the DCC it still drives superb even being a bit high. And who likes it being lower, they can still buy aftermarkets springs. But I agree about the spacers. They are a must. 15 mm on each side and it will be perfect.
