Multimedia Retrofitting (kind off) 2018 mk3

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

New here and new to skoda.

Always liked the vag cars

Had a vw passat b6 for the last 8 years, and now it just felt to me that the octavia are way more beautiful so decided to get an 2018 octavia.

Got it yesterday and realized something weird with the multimedia.

Apperantley the previous owner installed some ****ty android hu.

And it is really make me feel bummed.

Also the phone and media in the cluster instrument screen isn't available. I guess because the central electric detect no radio installed since it isn't original.

I wonder if it is possible to retrofit the original system. Really like the columbus with touch buttons.

I have read a bunch of topics here and made some searching but feel like there is way too much info which made me very confused.

I have noticed that in my glove box compartment there is no sd slot or cd drive i think it is what you call MIB.

(Which by the way really thought that was a reference to men in black movie at first glance, lol)

Any way there isn't nothing in there just a place for the car manual i guess and no wires, connectors or anything else in there.

There is a rear camera installed and working but not sure if it will work with the colombus.

Is it even possible?

And if so, someone can help with a little explanation of what i need to get?

I also have an obdeleven device so i can read codes or make adaptations or settings.

Thanks,

Ohad
