Climate Control Knobs

Featured Replies

Evening all,

So, my dearest Wife has managed to spill Coca Cola all over the centre console. This has resulted in the middle knob being extremely difficult to rotate, as it's an incredibly sticky residue. Divorce is also on the cards.
I probably know the answer to this (short one being no) but are these knobs easily removable?

I've had a gander on YouTube but couldn't find anything. Thanks.

Have you tried an interior cleaner on the knobs, like Auto Finesse Total, give the knob a bit of a soak? Can’t be any worse than Coca Cola? Or I’m sure someone on the car cleaning forum will have an idea?

Or if on Facebook, try the Detailing Addicts group.

The knobs will unclip if you're careful.

You'll need to remove the panel from the car and take off the facia first but you can see the four clips here:

If needed, you can also remove the screws from the back of the unit to take it completely apart and make sure there isn't coke on the PCB etc :thumbup:

Presume I’d need to take the infotainment unit first to be able to remove this??

I'm not sure, it's not something I've had to remove yet ;)

@SashaGrace probably knows :)

Screen out then climate panel pulls out with no tools.

You need 4 x release keys to get the screen out though.....
