Headlight right hand drive message

Featured Replies

Has anybody had this happen, had a strange message in the centre display , it suddenly said the headlights are set up for right hand drive, not sure how this happened as I never touched any settings, read the manual and managed to change back to LHD, any ideas?

Daft question but you have a LHD car in Portsmouth??

No daft questions on a forum..😉, as it triggerd my brain into gear think I'm confused about RHD car, driving on the left etc..the message threw me as it has never come up before

Yes it happened to me a few weeks ago for no apparent reason. I reset it via the menu and it hasn't returned since. I've also had a phantom report that the Travel Assist wasn't available when I was in town driving at around 20mph without using it or cruise control, and the lane assist was inactive because of my slow speed.

Just been out to check the message in the car it says...."headlight adjustment for driving on the right active" could be confusing, does it mean driving on the RH side of the road or driving from a RH drivers seat??

"Driving on the right hand side of the road"!

Must be some sort of glitch in the sat nav. Every time we go to France(in our 18 plate Octavia) we get the new speed limit warnings, but have to set the ‘drive on the right” headlamp settings via the setup menu.

The previous Octy with Bi Xenons just changed the alignment automatically. Apparently it is too complicated for the LED’s to do the same.

Progress? I think not...

Ours had this the other day too. Had to go back into the settings and change it back…. Are the headlamps linked to the GPS? If so the ‘switch’ will of con-encided with getting SOS errors up and nav destination being lost at the same point?

In my case the change occurred without any SOS error or loss of GPS signal that I detected. I put it down to a momentary glitch in the software - a bit like the occasional glitch in my old Golf SV where once a year or so the car would feel homesick and the satnav would tell me I was in Wolfsburg!!

More software glitches??

While driving to the shops today I received a message telling me there was a system update available to cure minor errors. So when I parked I installed it by pressing the Update button.

When I returned and started the engine I was told "Travel Assist Not Available", "Lane Assist Not Available" and "Dynamic Road Signs Not Available"! The windscreen was clean (it had been showery and the new Bosch wipers were doing an excellent job). A quick engine off and restart when I got home gave me the travel assist and lane assist not available messages again. Wonder if it will have reset itself overnight??

Hmm, seems to be getting worse.

Makes you wonder how many others suffer the same problems, given that the number of Karoq owners who are also contributors to this forum must represent a very small fraction of the total number of Karoq owners.

I've had the travel and lane assist warning flash up on my screen. Australian vehicle and I didn't really pay much attention.

And today, after a precautionary wipe over a clean windscreen all was fine again. Seems cars need to be rebooted now just like computers!
