Is it worth stripping accessories off car before trading in? - any interest on here?

Featured Replies

Our 2007 Octavia 4x4 estate will be going soon so I was starting to clear it out and wondered if any of the following would be worth 'salvaging' for sale before it goes...   bearing in mind the dealer will probably just send it to auction.

  • Non-Canbus HID kit (Londoncolour kit)
  • Parrot bluetooth kit (LS3200 colour)
  • Silver coloured 'Swing MP3' radio surround
  • 16" Apollon spare wheel (never been on the car)
  • Jack and 'toolkit' etc.
  • OE Rubber boot mat
  • Boot nets
  • OE carpet mats
  • Sunglasses holder (grey)
  • Rear interior individual reading lights (not the single large light unit)

Any thoughts?

As you say they won’t add any value when traded in. Take off the easy stuff and bang it on here or the popular auction site. Get some of your outlay back ?

People are always after spare wheels and tool kits, presume 16” is pretty common fit across Skoda models.

Apart from making your far more sellable to a private buyer I don’t think the Dealer will give you any extra so you may as well take off anything that has value.

I would probably try and sell it privately as a well maintained Octavia 4x4 would surely be fairly sought after?
