JR not sure what that meant,I probably need to eat some Frogs legs and Snails to understand.

naw just lots of red wine!!  ;-))

I am teetotal and sensitive to racism.

We need a photo.

You might need to rig up an installation utensil.

No maybe its an Auld Reekie fitting ! Seriously the 2014 Yeti rear wiper motor has only the 2 small brushes in the photo, no ide how they were put in in the first place, but now the are heading for the BIN.

I am assuming you you need each brush so they stay in place while you put the rotor shaft in.

Example make a couple of clips or pins to hold in the brushes with the springs compressed that you can retrieve after the shaft is inserted.

Thanks for that if I can find the time will try.

Other problems , third brake light not working.

But more importantly Tailgate lock not working, took it to bits no visible faults, tested 2 pin switch alongside number plate lights and ok.

Have a feeling this is all related (3 faults), bad Earth , possibly shorting where “concertina” type flexible conduit passes through chassis at top of tailgate bodywork!

The brush boxes above were to show what you were looking for, has yours got the springs in?

Hi WillieRP

Those motor brushes look big enough to last about 30 years and are unlikely to be the issue if the motor is misbehaving.

If you have multiple electrical faults in the tailgate then as you say,  it's highly likely to be a problem with the loom where it bridges the hinge, especially any earth connection which will be common to several items.  You could try rigging up a temporary earth wire between the metal of the tailgate and the bodywork of the car, and see if the faults clear.

I have ordered a new motor as the very small springs popped out and after an hour or so I gave up for now, (see my photo), thanks.

You must be looking at another members Brushes, mines are tiny.

Will investigate more re shorting business, BTW thanks for the rigging/earth tip wish I had thought of that !
