Atera Signo roof bars on a Scala

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

After reading some positive reviews, decided to buy Atera Signo roof bars for my Scala. Couldn't find reviews for the clamp type attachment though, so I was surprised to find they come with generic flat rubber pads (expected shaped pads like Thule's).

Tried them on today, without tightening, and they seem to sit on the edge of the frame. I guess the pads will move a bit outwards but that's a lot of sliding to go.

The bars came pre-assembled and supposedly to size, haven't measured if they set them to spec. Didn't tighten because I want to put some helicopter tape to spare the paint. I have little to no experience with roof bars.

Anyone with experience and thoughts about it? Thanks.

In case someone is interested, here's an update.

I had a video chat with a technician at The Roof Box and his opinion was that the bars don't sit quite right. His suggestion was to send them back and get something else or try and move the feet out.

It is possible to move the feet with respect to the pillars but they are set at the furthest out. Moving the pillars out sets the metal brackets at a bad angle and the peg doesn't reach deep enough in the hole in the car frame.

The bars are on their way back to the shop and ordering Thule Wingbars.
