Central Locking issue

Featured Replies

Hi,

Discovered today, I can’t open my near side passenger front door with the key fob ( central locking).

 All other doors open ok.

I can open the door internally and when the door is opened in this way the door can be opened externally.

tried the spare key same issue so not the key fob battery.

Any ideas

Does it unlock with the central locking button inside the car?

No I’ve just tried it.

Is it the actuator.

How much would this be to change

Yes - a known issue.  I've seen this happen on loads of VAG cars (especially Passat's).  Dealer job - the trouble is that you have to take the door apart to get into the actuator to open up the door, so it will be about 2-3hrs of labour plus a £30 part (new actuator).

Thanks for the response

To get to the actuator is it fairly straight forward ( Tory screws)
