2010 Superb Columbus map in Germany

Featured Replies

Hello all, I just bought a 2010 Superb 2.0tdi 170 Elegance, the Columbus map and satnav is stuck in a German town. I'm confused as to how to resolve this. I've tried a reset (holding the top 4 buttons down on the head unit) this didn't work. I've read some people advise that i need to replace the GPS aerial, others say I need to update the system with a DVD or SD card. Any advice will be gratefully received.

That means there is no sat nav signal being received, so the people who say it's a GPS aerial problem are spot on IMHO.

If it was a map problem then it would show you on a blank background if the GPS aerial was OK.

My Amundsen has an option to show how many satellites the GPS is receiving, your Columbus should have that also - I would RTFM and check that before doing anything.

Go into the info on the nav screen and it'll show how may satellites it can "see"
In an open area, less than 8 or 9 and you have a bad signal, if its 0 and you're out in the open, a bad roof aerial is most likely and quite common
