The 'free' 20" wheel upgrade.

Featured Replies

The free upgrade to the 20" seems to be just UK based when the 19" appears to be unavailable, in France not so 20" is extra. Offers and configurator seem very country based. In France 1 March pricelist tweaks raised extra prices a tad and also requited for example high end interiors before you could order the HUD option (I am a gadget man, that likes his toys) No matter my order Feb 20 is in and build scheduled for week 21.

The free upgrade to 20" wheels is tempting until you see the price of 20" tyres - double the cost of 19".

You're talking £800 for a set of four.

Think I'll stick to the 19's when I put my order in.

Welcome to the forum.

? Are there decent 19" tyres for the car, maybe All-Seasons for using in Scotland at £100 each?

Our current ŠKODA Karoq is 2 years old in August and we have only done 8000 miles, should be able to get about 5 years out of a set of tyres. So looking at the long game I believe the cost of the tyres are affordable.🤣🤣🤣

Sorry, this should not be in the Register,

but are the 19" staggered with 235/55 R 19 on the front, and 255/50 R 19 rears and are they XL's on the rear?

£650 for 19’s vs £800 for 20’s hardly double the price.

The cheapest 19" tyres (235/55 R19) start at £92 each, whereas the cheapest 20" (235/50 R20) come in at £189 each !

So if you're frugal it's the difference between £400 and £800.

I don't know if 17" wheels will fit the Enyaq iV EV, but 235/65R17 has a similar outside diameter to 235/55R19 and 235/50R20. 235/65R17 was fitted to the Audi Q5 and is a much cheaper size.

With no spare wheel carried people might well consider which tyre sizes are readily available in the event of a tyre getting wrecked.

Not sure how many will be fitting the 'cheapest' of any size of tyre,

but what is not cheap is being on a trip / holiday during the festive holidays of maybe 2 days at Christmas or 3 days or more @ the New Year in Scotland and unable to source a tyre until the Holidays are past.

If you’ve got an order in already, don’t pin your hopes on a free 20” wheel upgrade. My son has been informed today his order due end of July has build confirmed and is too late to change order for free upgrade and will definitely come with the standard 19” wheels.

I ordered with the 19 inch wheels but was told that unless I wanted a delayed delivery I had to accept the 20 inch wheels. I'll be happy with either to be honest

I'm in the process of ordering and also have gone for the 19" (which appear to still be available according to the dealer, yesterday). I had read that the Enyaq ride could be a bit harsh, but on the test drive, I found it OK on the 19" wheels. That combined cost of tyres and possible better economy from narrower tyres made the decision.
