‘Trip1’ on digital display

Featured Replies

My digital instrument display shows a trip display as shown. Anyone have any idea how to zero this? Can’t find it myself and if it is ‘Trip 1’, where is Trip 2?

(total mileage is shown elsewhere)

Here's a YouTube video of how to do it. You might need to be in the right display view though

Thank you. I’ll see if that works on mine.

Sorted! Though not using video which had a different steering wheel.

From ‘Menu’ screen select ‘Vehicle’. Then select Settings in bottom right corner. The menu then shows an option for ‘Instrument cluster’. Select this and scroll to bottom of list is an option to reset Trip recorder. You can also reset the long term and journey recorders there.

Not exactly intuitive needing multiple button touches. My Tiguan had a physical button at base of screen to reset trip. Personally I find a trip meter useful to record specific journeys.

Or press car then virtual cockpit scroll down to the bottom press reset trip you can reset longterm as well. I do this before I get out of the car  to fill up

Thanks - that’s much easier.

As the Refuelling exercise automatically resets the data relating to a fill up, I just leave the Long Term display to look after itself.

Resetting Long Term at a fill up means you have 2 displays providing the same information.

I think it resets at 999 miles (or Km) or so many hours. I’m not sure.

I sometimes reset it manually if I catch it at a particular ODO value.
