Power drop before regeneration.

Featured Replies

My 2015 Octavia 1.6, 154k on the clock drops power dramatically when it’s ready to regenerate, no warning lights appear, it’s just like if it was in limp mode but after a couple of miles it’s fine again .

On my 2016 50k 1.6TDi the fuel consumption drops a bit, but I don’t notice a loss of power during regeneration . Does your DPF need a clean out?

How often is the regen process taking place. Once a tank is about normal. If you are in a town, try taking the car out onto main fast roads and giving the car an Italian tune-up (fast, hi revs, high speed driving). Failing that I've discovered that putting in a cetan improver into the diesel can massively improve performance and and keep your EGR valve and DPF in tip top performance.

I find running on Shell V Power diesel helps keep the engine running better. It does cost more but I find I get better mpgs aswell. Plus it has additives and cleaners to clean the fuel line and injectors so win win for me.

The Regen is quite regular as I am aTaxi driver and cover 100 miles per day approximately, I have never put any additives in my fuel but I use Shell V Power all the time.

Always use Shell V Power nothing else I bought the car with10k on the clock and I have never used any other fuel, 99.9% of the time the car runs as sweet asa nut, I have only had to replace the Alternator in the 4 years I have owned the car,

I think an Italian tune-up would help. Doing lots of stop/start work will cause issues.
