Hi,

I developed a high beam assist fault and decided to swap out the mirror and camera for a second hand one. this seemed ok for a day or two then the same fault has occurred. is it just coincidence and i need another ?

The only other option is that if you put on a new module; the ECU might not know anything about it.  That would also cause that error.  Some time on ODIS maybe required.

Is it just me or is the Light / High Beam Assist equipment very failure prone.

I've had mine fail some years back and again in the last few weeks. At £800 to replace I really don't think it's worth sorting.

I can't imagine the headache when other more key aspects of these high tech cars start to fail. I bet other aspects of the tech are also more failure prone than the mechanicals 😰

I have the OPs error on a mk7 golf R. I bought the car with the fault, I knew about it but it does seem disappointing they are so failure prone and Expensive as well! I'm not sure I will fix it, even with a 2nd hand part.
