I’ve heard/read about the same issue in VW forum - it was related to a vacuum leak in break booster vacuum hose and check valve.

Some were reporting that pressing the gas pedal fixes the brakes. Hope this helps, sounds like a scary issue to me!

Thx! The dealership said they checked every value with diagnoctics and everything is fine... And the vacuum hoses arent softened... All that after a crash on the motorway and one near crash (the second time I was aware so I used the handbrake and jumped off and on the pedale and it worked). The leasing company also try to spare the money so they say if the dealership didn't find any issues they will not ask for a part replacement.  Very strange issue and I'm personally surprised it hasn't generetad a mass recall for the model.

Hello!

My first post on the forum.

I'm experiencing the same problem: cold start (after 8h-10h sitting), front facing down the slight hill, low RPM (because no need to press gas pedal). And after 50m no brake power. Sometimes "spiral" sign near "check engine" sign blinks, but very rarely.

Have you solved the problem? What was the cause in your case?

Thank you very much!

Mitch
