iV...set up delayed charging

Featured Replies

I'm trying to set up delayed charging (so my car charged from 01.30am and uses cheaper off peak power). My Pod Point charging socket is set to come on at 01.30. On the car, unlocked, I plug in and then press the lower timer charge button, like the manual says,  which then blinks orange three or four times. But next mornjng...no charge. Manual suggests a setting on the e-manager...but doesn't say which and none is obvious. There's nothing on the MySkoda app. Ideas, clever peeps? Thanks.

In the e-manager where you edit your departure time, day etc, there is an option to tell it when your "low tariff" is. I'd recommend using the function on the car or the function on the podpoint but not both together.

I too am wondering how to set up delayed charging, in my case from an ordinary 13-amp socket on my downstairs ring, where the only control is a simple on/off switch. The manual goes on aboujt "departure". Does that mean the time of day when you intend to start a journey so the car knows when to turn on heating etc? If so it's not relevant for me because I start at various times and many days I don't go out at all.

I have found the "Low tariff" setting and turned that on, but as soon as I connect the power (outside the low tariff period) the car starts charging. Pressing the time-delayed charging button seemed to make no difference.

Can some kind soul please tell me how to tell the car to delay charging until the low tariff time?

I hoped to be able to control it with Škoda Connect, but I can't use that because I'm the second owner and the car won't let me become the primary user.

On my Passat I need to set a departure time AND set the low tariff time. I have the low tariff timer set to finish after my departure time, otherwise it uses battery to condition the car rather than mains. It means you use peak rate for that bit, but it's never been more than 0.5kw for me and I find it's worth the cost.

Anybody had any success with charge schedule? I am having the same problem.

Departure time set for 05:00

Off peak tariff set 00:05 -04:55

Plug in charge cable, shows schedule light on

Soon as I turn the plug on, car starts to charge. Using granny plug until proper EV charger installed.Screenshot_20231107_202319_Mykoda.thumb.jpg.436239f847827c573dc2027e683bc071.jpg20231107_205307.thumb.jpg.d37e0f9936746a6a3102de07f23e5951.jpgScreenshot_20231107_202319_Mykoda.thumb.jpg.436239f847827c573dc2027e683bc071.jpg

I have worked it out. The minimum charge setting must be below the current battery level for scheduled charging to work. I was set at 50% and battery was a 8%, car wanted to charge to 50% as quickly as possible stop, then scheduled charging would take over.Screenshot_20231107_214705_Mykoda.thumb.jpg.1169d4bc2b41968591288993feab7e0c.jpg
