Looking to buy a MY03 Audi A6 Avant 2.5 TDI

Featured Replies

Any buying advice. It has done nearly 80k, but appears all in order with the history. Been a local car, local bought and owned etc etc. It is a auto/tiptronic - not sure whether that makes a difference. Non quattro though.

Any idea when all the belts etc are changed ?

Cheers in advance.

Andy

Hold on, want to know EVERYTHING about the car! Sounds awesome.

Any photos or links to similar models?

Don't know about the belts though unfortunately. :o

Belts should be changed at 80k, not a small job though.

Check the engine for oil leaks (very common) and it should start on the button as it were. Take it for a drive and make sure there are no clonks from the front suspension as arms are quite common and expensive to replace. CV boots split and have a feel of the rear carpets, make sure they dont feel wet.

Its not just Fabias with the problem then! Phew!

The Fabia problem is somewhat minor compared to the water ingress into the A6/Passat/Superb

Indoor pool anyone?

Thanks for that. PM sent :)

Luxury-wise not in the same league but consider the 2.5tdi Superb - I'd imagine the same budget would get you a nearly new - my dealer had a 6 month old with 5k on for £15.5K same engine and many shared components but much cheaper and much newer

Incedentally, I've driven a few of the VAG 2.5 TDi and it does not suit the auto box as much as you'd think (nor is it as quick as you'd expect when standard) - go for the 3.0 if you can as it's a much better engine

The car was spot on. Subject to a few further checks, the car is mine !

Whoooo........

P.S The auto box / engine etc was spot on. It was smooth, quiet and effortless.........

Is this a replacement for the roadster? What prompted this decision? Just curious. I think you made a damn good choice of car.
