Indicator lights when on cruise control and turning left

Featured Replies

Hello!
I just bought a Skoda Rapid, 1.4 TSI DSG 2014, that has an interesting issue. Several ndicator lights come on in two situations: while cruise control is active and when the left turn signal is on.
I have papers from an authorised repair shop that confirm it as an issue but states that it does not need to be fixed. The shop has reset the computer and can see no errors. It is a bit weird and irritating. The shop says we have to replace the entire instrument cluster to solve the issue.
As I mentioned, the issue appears when the cruise control is active or the left turn signal is active. At that moment the indicator light for the ESC and the windscreen washer fluid lights up. There is no issue with either system or fluid and the lights are not on when neither cruise control nor the left turn signal is on.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this and how to solve it?

This reads like a bad earth issue, but I don't know if that's possible with CanBUS. If it is, it needs a good auto electrician, not a Skoda main stealer, to resolve it.

I believe all the controls from the steering wheel area go through LINBUS then out to CANBUS through another module - OP can you tell us which warning lights come on?

Do you notice your steering feel slightly heavier when the lights come on? This would incidcate there's some sort of issue on your CAN BUS as the EPS module goes into a failsafe mode.

Thanks for your response!
When I turn on the left turn indicator, the Windscreen washer fluid level indicator and ESC lights turns on.
When I turn on cruise control, only the ESC light turns on.

Can you scan it with OBD 11/VCDS? Could just be a faulty stalk.
