I've looked from the above and there you can see two parts of the windowl and probably vinyl like material between them.

email yesterday  car will be with supplier 3 September so hopefully will be delivered few weeks from that date

First post! but I had put an order in nov 21 (Australia) for an RS and been waiting ever since, MY23 models are now in and this is what we have lost. How does everyone rate the CANTON? I hear really good things about it but is it worth losing?

I can’t see the picture but I have the Canton in my car now and it’s great, my new one is supposed to have it as well and it had better be there when I eventually get it as it’s a deal breaker for me! I haven’t had anything through from my dealer telling me there is any change to the spec…

Mine too, just got an email from the dealer. Built and enroute to the port.

I was told 4 to 6 weeks from built to doorstep, but people have had very different experiences. 

 

A few have managed to figure out what boat it's on, hoping for some help on that!

Wish I knew. I live in Yorkshire, dealer is just outside Birmingham and I don't know if they'll use a PDI centre or not...

Mine have been either  Grimsby or Port of Tyne

My first one was Port of Tyne, but that’s probably because the dealer was about 5 miles away. Current one came via Grimsby. I believe VAG also use Sheerness.

With not knowing if broker will use dealership or PDI centre it's a bit difficult!

 

PDI centre has been mentioned so that could be almost anywhere...

 

Question is will it be closer to 4 or to 6 weeks so do I ask them to hold out for 72 reg or not....?

It’s a lease, right? So, purely depends how vain you are as you don’t care about any small difference in residuals. On one hand, new reg plate is always nice, and what’s another couple of weeks when you’ve waited so long already… but on the flip side, I WANT MY CAR NOW, DAMMIT!

That's why I want to know where it is - if it's 2 or 3 weeks away then I want it NOW, if it's 4 to 6 weeks away then it's a different decision...

Treat yourself to a private plate then it doesn’t matter. Just an idea…..

I’d take the car when it’s ready and ignore the plate personally. I heard loads of dealers say currently people are taking cars a few days before plate changes even just cos they’ve waited so long. Don’t think the plate makes much difference right now.

That's ready and waiting, but the boss and I (mostly her 😂) want the chance to drive around looking brand new for 6 months - we'll never be buying new again!

 

Just seems a shame to know I've got a lovely brand new car but to the rest of the world it could be 6 months old. And if there's two similar cars for sale at a similar price and mileage, wouldn't you expect the 72 to sell before the 22, even if in reality they were days apart?

I’m going with the private plate option, sounds like you have some thinking to do. Good luck whatever you decide.
