Electric window problem

Featured Replies

Hello the electric windows have started playing up. I changed the switch on the driver side and it worked fine along with the passenger one due to being warn out.

I watched a film clip on utube how to make the windows work again by un plugging the connector in the driver door loom. I do this the windows work fine but soon as you switch the engine of the problem back unless you unplug the connector again. So is there a control or relay box problem on these cars?

Skoda fabia 1.4 tdi 2006 Thanks

This often seems to come down to replacement of the driver's side motor module, which tends to be very expensive, even secondhand. :crying:

Hello there a easy guide or way to test the electric window motor?

Not sure about easy, but probably the most conclusive test is to swap it into a car where the windows work correctly and see if they still do, reliably.

It would need to be a Mk1 Fabia with the same part number module, so a car from about 2005 onwards.

Conversely, if you have access to such another Fabia, test-swap their module into your car and see if everything now works in yours.

Check cabin fuse 11, if you haven't already.

So the part number has to match even if its from the same model cars?
