Škoda Fabia III 2016 cruise control retrofit / acc, led lights

Featured Replies

Hi,

I bought a 2016. Fabia, the car has a speed limiter, and I was wondering if i could somehow upgrade/convert that speed limiter to cruise control.

And also, the car has front assist, so I was also wondering whether it is possible to code ACC because the car already reads the cars in front of it.

Thirdly, the car has upgraded lights, but it has regular bulbs inside them, and if possible, I wanted to change the bulbs to LED ones. If it is, which bulbs would you recommend?

PS, english is not my native language, so I am sorry for any spelling mistakes, if there are any.

Thanks!

It's technically possible, in that LED units that fit are manufactured. Unless you're fitting them to projector light shells, it does risk dazzling oncoming traffic and may break motor vehicle lighting laws for your country.

Build quality of LED bulbs can vary a lot, some are very low quality and a waste of time effort and money even if the purchase cost is low.  The LED bulbs of course do need  to be suitable to the car's lighting system.

For the computer bits you ask about I would not know but I would guess it would be coding issues if all the correct parts and systems are already on your car but whether this would interfere or confuse other systems I would not know, you do need to be very careful about hacking or altering any computer program and the ones on even 5 year old cars seem to me to be very complex and invasive.

ACC can't be retrofitted without getting a new ABS module and possibly hacking protection on your existing front radar.

I recently got standard cruise control fitted and tried to upgrade it to ACC but the front radar won't let you enable the ACC coding as that probably relies on some other SWAP code or a specific module.

You will need a different stalk and activation code for switching speed limiter to standard cruise control.

This is dependant on the equipment of your car, I suggest using https://www.skoda-parts.com/

Add your car to the garage and it will ONLY show the correct cruise control kit for your car.
