  1. The ash/soot level has not been checked, but every time the car initiates the DPF regen, I take it out on the highway for 10-15km to do it's thing. It sometimes feels sluggish even a day after the regen. I don't know exactly what they repaired on the injectors and fuel pump, but the car had rough idle and knocking during idle and acceleration at lower RPM's, they inspected the injectors and now I don't know if this is the right terminology in English, but they were overflowing or something like that, and they suspected that the fuel pump was peeling off? on the inside and messed up the injectors, so they cleaned the whole system, and changed what needed to be changed on the pump and injectors. That was done about 7000 km's ago, and that problems are gone since then. Currently it has 221.000 km's on the clock, and I bought it 3-4 years ago when it had around 160.000 km's. Prior to the real injector and fuel pump service, I tried Wynn's Extreme Diesel Clean 3 if I remember correctly, that didn't help, since the repair, I haven't used any additives.
  2. Hi, I noticed that my MK3 Fabia drives differently every now and then, and it drives me crazy. Sometimes the car would feel like it has 30 less horsepower, 500kg more, sluggish, slow to react on the acceleration pedal, I get worse fuel mileage, and the engine maybe sounds and runs a little bit harsher. I haven't been able to determine the rule when it happens, but it happens often enough to make me feel like I am playing lottery every time I need to drive it. Does anybody have any clue why this might be happening? I went to a mechanic to read and see if any codes will pop up on the computer to help me with diagnosing the issue, but nothing... I repaired/cleaned my injectors, fuel pump, fuel tank, did my oil and filter services regularly... Thanks!
  3. Hi, I have a 2016. Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDI 77kw. I sent my injectors as well as the fuel pump for service because the car had a rough idle and was shaking. The first time I picked up the car two days ago, it ran smoother, didn't shake anymore, but when I accelerated, there was a weird knocking sound around 2000 RPM's, that was there prior to the servicing, but wasn't there prior to the injectors and fuel pump needing service, so I figured I take it back to the shop to see if anything is wrong. They found that the one of the fuel hoses had disconnected partially, and that it was a bit rotten, so they shortened it to where the "healthy" hose starts, put it back and said that now the engine should not be making any noise during hard acceleration. I tested it again yesterday, the car runs a bit smoother again, but the weird knocking sound is still there. And then, when I got home, I noticed some rattle during idle (I'll attach audio recordings of it). What can be the problem? I will drive the car today a bit more to see if the problem goes away with driving, but I doubt it will. Thanks! Standard recording 23(1).aac Standard recording 22(1).aac
  4. Thanks everyone for your replies, there indeed was a rattle coming from the glovebox, which I fixed, but the one in the video is coming from the horn/airbag on the steering wheel. I won't mess around putting tape underneath it, because I am afraid that I will mess up the airbag somehow, so I guess I will just have to live with it.
  5. Hi, So I have been fighting with interior rattles for the past week, putting self adhesive tape everywhere I hear a rattle, but can't figure out this one. When the lever that tightens the steering wheel in the position is tightened, there is a rattle coming from the speedometer area, and when I release the lever, it doesn't rattle. It makes no sense to me why, does anybody have a similar problem, or the solution to it? Video of the problem: Thanks!
  6. My current battery is Varta 7P0 915 105, 68 Ah, 380A, not sure if it is original, I bought this car used, my local repair shop that does the recoding and replacing batteries said that I need a stronger one, they searched by the VIN and suggested that I put an 74 Ah one, 680A, not sure what brand it is, but is it necessary to put 74 Ah? On this list I only see 70 Ah batteries, but if 74 Ah is better, and if it won't do harm, should I just put in the stronger one?
  7. Okay, thanks! I am going to replace the battery, just to be safe. Current battery is AGM, If I replace it with an AGM battery, will it need recoding? And also, could it be that the alarm isn't working because of the faulty battery? I never got the alarm to work, I tried opening the doors from the inside while the car was locked via the keyfob, and it never activated (I waited 30 seconds like it is stated in the owner's manual for the alarm to activate).
  8. Hi, Today I started my car, it struggled a little bit, but it started and errors just started popping up (Start-Stop system failure, ESC failure, Front Assist unavailable), and the car was idling at 1.1k RPMs, I was unable to add revs. The car is driven every day, it was not cold outside. Start-Stop wasn't working for quite a while, it was constantly giving me a message that the car power demand is too high or something like that, but it didn't bother me. Also, for about 1-2 months, upon starting the car, the message that Front Assist is not available was popping up, not every time, but it happened every other startup, and I ignored it because Front Assist was functional after that, and the message would clear itself (tested it by driving a little bit closer to my friend on the highway, and it displayed the following distance warning symbol), so I didn't think much of it. Today is the first time that this had happened, I didn't leave any lights on or anything during the night, so I don't know if the battery could be the issue. I "fixed" the problem after letting it idle for about a minute, then I restarted the car, and it was all normal, except for the Start-Stop system failure message that stayed. I attached an image and a video showing the problem. Thanks! 0-02-05-8905bbdd0c54a6a3b10b15cea90f862c64360fdba1e853d62efd0e92610a30e4_97d91b1771b4b387.mp4
  9. Hi, What wipers, front and back, should I buy for the Škoda Fabia 2016? The Bosch wiper app says that Bosch AeroTwin A138S for the front ones, and A403H or A383H for the rear, but when I measured my current wipers, they are longer than the ones Bosch recommends, so I don't know if they are suitable or not. Thanks!
  10. @JGrindelWhen I left the window opened, I locked my car and tried waving my hand inside the car, but the alarm didn't go off. It also didn't go off as I opened the door from the inside while the car has been locked via the keyfob. Could it be that my alarm system is broken or something?
  11. Hi, I have a 2016. Fabia, it has Front Assist and I was wondering if I could somehow transform it to ACC? Thanks!
  12. Hi, What are these bars, or whatever that is near the sunglass compartment on my Fabia 2016. Estate? I tried searching online, but can't find any info on what that may be. Thanks!
  13. Hi, I bought a 2016. Fabia, the car has a speed limiter, and I was wondering if i could somehow upgrade/convert that speed limiter to cruise control. And also, the car has front assist, so I was also wondering whether it is possible to code ACC because the car already reads the cars in front of it. Thirdly, the car has upgraded lights, but it has regular bulbs inside them, and if possible, I wanted to change the bulbs to LED ones. If it is, which bulbs would you recommend? PS, english is not my native language, so I am sorry for any spelling mistakes, if there are any. Thanks!
