Fabia, SDi - 2003 - Manual.

My starter motor is dead and cannot be repaired.

I am in Thailand, so finding parts is difficult.

My parts shop said he has one for an automatic, but my car is a manual.

The part number I am looking for is - Skoda 02T911023C or 02T911023H

I would be grateful if someone could tell me if it's the same starter for the manual and automatic versions.

 

Did they even make a auto SDi?

I think yours will be the 02T911023H part, though not sure how that differs to the earlier (suffix C) one fitted up to chassis no. 6Y-2-389395.  I expect your chassis number has a 3 or 4 as the tenth digit of the VIN?

ASY was never paired with an autobox in Mk1 Fabia, but may have been in other models/brands?

Do you know if the starter paired with the ASY engine in other brands (Polo? Golf?), which have auto boxes, would be the same as the one used in Fabias with a manual box?

I might have to get one sent from the UK, just be easier if I can find one here.

Oh, in that case yours will be the suffix C part. But according to this page, the suffix H is a direct replacement, so either will do Buy 02T911023C starter Audi, Seat, Skoda and VW genuine OEM part (oemwolf.com)

No idea, but  I suspect not, unless it has the same part number 02T911023C or H.  If it does, it is the same.
