Light settings - travel mode

Featured Replies

I live in Cyprus where we drive on the left of the road (similar to UK). Yesterday night while driving the car suddenly popped up a message stating lights adjusted to right hand traffic. The message got me thinking...

So today I decided to check this option in vehicle - settings - lights - travel mode. It has two options:

1. Left-hand traffic (this is the selected value in my car now)

2. Right-hand traffic

And now I am confused as to which option is the right one if "we" drive on the left hand side. Is the setting relative to oncoming traffic (seems so to me as light direction is governed by oncoming traffic) OR is it relative to the side of the road "you" actually drive on?

Tried reading the manual but it does not help with any description.

It should be to l/h if you drive on the left.
It is a known bug where it will sometimes say it has changed to the other setting. Usually when you turn the car off and on again it sorts  itself out.
Just one of the many software bugs in the car.

You, and your car are part of the traffic. Some of the traffic is going the same way as you, some is going the other way.  It’s all “traffic”, and it’s all (in Cyprus) on the left.

Thank you @Billywizzo and @DaveMiller

Maybe one day Soka can rename them to:

1. Driving on left side

2. Driving on right side

🙂🙂

That would be “ simply clever “ :)

No, that would be confusing!  Inside a left hand drive car, the driver is … “driving on the left” (of the car).

Skoda are right to refer to where the traffic is, not where the driver is.

What would be simply clever would be to recognise the location using GPS and switch automatically
