Kodiaq cannot connect to Andriod Auto running on Samsung Galaxy S20+ (Android 11)

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I don't know you if you have the same issue like me, but I have been struggling with this issue for many months and finally I decided to look for help.

I have a Kodiaq 2018 model. It used to work fine with Anroid Auto on my phone Samsung Galaxy S20+, but after I upgraded the OS of my phone from Anroid 10 to Anroid 11. The car cannot connect to Androd Auto anymore. Everytime when I connect my phone to the car with a USB cable, and click SmarktLink - Android Auto, a whindow pops up displaying "Unable to connect. Please check whether the mobile device supports Android Auto." I tried different cables, reinstalling AA app, etc, but without success.

Is this issue happening to any of you. I would really appreciate if someone can share a solution if there is any.

Thank you so much!

In theory you shouldn't need the AA app in Android 11 as it's built in to the OS.  But if it's Android Go it won't work full stop.  We discovered the latter recently and ended up getting a new phone for my wife as a result

Otherwise try checking the data transfer settings to see if they are allowing data transfer and aren't set to charge only

  • 3 months later...

i have huawei mate 20 lite phone

original cable did not support android auto.
I bought a usb 3.0 data transfer cable and thus solved the android auto connection problem.
However, no matter what I did, the mirrorlink connection cannot be established. Is there anyone who can solve it? Should I buy a new phone?
Or is there anyone who can gift me an iphone 13 pro max😁🤪

Samsung new models have no more Mirrorlink connectivity.

Maybe Huawei too? I believe phone manufacturers will move off the Mirrorlink, as it`s pretty much pointless nowadays anyway. No true screen mirroring, so 20th century compared to Android Auto.
