Stop/Start and Drive Mode selection

Featured Replies

I tend to deactivate stop/start whenever I remember. I usually keep drive mode in 'normal' mode and only select 'sport' or 'eco' infrequently. Recently I have noticed if stop/start is deactivated and I then change the drive mode, stop/ start reactivates. It may have always done this , but have never noticed before . Can anyone confirm this is happening on their cars?

The different driving modes may well affect the sensitivity of the stop/start system... I'm pretty sure I've read that the Eco setting makes the stop/start system engage more often. But as I don't disable it I can't comment on whether changing the drive mode does reset it. I normally have mine set to its Individual mode so that I can have the Eco settings with the DCC Comfort settings.

Thanks for the reply Chris. I'll try it in the various drive modes later today, to see if stop/start only reactivates in Eco mode:thumbup:

Based on your reply, just played about with settings in my car and you are spot on with your thoughts. Selecting Eco drive mode reactivates stop/start. Changed my Individual settings from Sport to Eco and again, when deactivating stop/start, selecting Individual mode, stop/start is reactivated. I've had my Karoq for two and a half years and I've never noticed this before! Must learn to be more observant! Thank you for your help.
