Exhaust temperature sensor fault

Featured Replies

Hi . Iv a problem with my 2016 Octavia

-1.6

-mil light on / glow plug light

-live data shows exhaust temp sensor 4 at -40

my problem is location of the sensor 4

I have the location of

3 temp sensors

2 oxegen sensor

2 pressure sensors

Am I missing something or does one of the sensors act as a temp sensors and oxegen sensor .

At a guess, it doesn't have a 4th temperature sensor hence the nonsense reading :)

On my old MK2 Octavia, it had 4 exhaust temperature readings but number 2 was always 0'C...

What's the fault code you've got?

Il post in p code but it’s basically saying failed regen because of time taken

When I disconnect the 3 temp sensors that I can locate they all re act and go to a mental reading . So I was thinking -40 was a reading from a failed sensor or open circuit .

If there is a no.4, logic suggests it will be nearest to the tailpipe/ rear of car.

Access to sensor and connector may be from below only?

The last sensor is a oxegen sensor 4-6 wires

the second last sensor is a pressure sensor pipe leading up to the pressure sensor at the top of engine .

il take photos soon and post in p code going into tackle it again it’s given me nightmares at this stage .
