Rear wiper plastic cover?

Featured Replies

Anyone know the part number for this please?

I caught the plastic cover on my rear wiper yesterday and knocked it off. It doesn't fit back on as a piece of it has broken off, think I need a new one.

Any idea what the part is called please, or where to get one?

Thanks

It doesn’t look broken, you have to engage the hinged clip first then flip it down to usual position.

It's not broken unless the male hinge locating tab on the blind side of the photo is broken off, even then it would be usable with just one.

Thanks. The hinge tabs are still there, so I'll have another go at fitting, couldn't get it to click into place when I tried.

Think I've found replacement for £7 on Ebay should I require one.

You have to make it "ave it!"

I too thought mine was broken.

Like so many of the plastic clip together parts on our cars they are so reluctant to lose their virginity that we often give up for fear of breaking something or thinking there is another fastener we have overlooked.

Once they know who is boss they become compliant.

The rear wiper spray nozzle had also partly come off, held by a spring, but it seems to have reseated itself now.

This has gone from bad to worse...

When refitting the plastic cover it initially wouldn't go back on, then it clicked into place but I heard a snap sound, and the wiper jet nozzle has broken off.

Is this something. I can fix myself? From Kennys diagram above it looks like a new nozzle might just push back in?

Some of the plastic covers I've seen on Ebay come with the nozzle, but Im sure I saw a spring on mine...

Only just got around to repairing this today, as its going for its MOT this afternoon and wasn't sure if the rear wash was part of the MOT?

I had lost the spray nozzle and feared it had snapped off leaving the tube inside which could have been difficult to get out, thankfully that wasn't the case and the new nozzle popped straight in. It appears the cover cap stops the nozzle from being forced out when spraying the screen.

Hook the hinged part of the cover on first then press back into place..

Fair enough, but needed doing especially as winter is coming.
