Side mirorrs auto dim

Hello guys!

 

I noticed that the left side mirror has an auto dimming film on top of it. 

 

The right one.. does not?

 

Therefore it doesn't dim.

 

Is this some kind of factory error or just cost cutting?

Only driver's side mirror has auto dimming. Same in Superb and Octavia.

Sadly yes - the accountants came to town on this one.  On high spec MK3 Octavia's, you actually got dimming side mirror on both sides.....on the MK4 Octy's - only on the drivers side. Poor......

I think that it's the driver only side as this is where overtaking cars would be visible.  Obviously cost cutting but its a budget car after all
