Hi all,

 

I find the standard gear knob in my Fabia Monte is too low for me, does anyone know if it's threaded or not? And if so, what?... looking to change to an aftermarket one.

Not threaded. Its got a little clip on it that keeps it tight to the gearstick itself. Its also attached to the leather boot. Funny I think the one in my cars too high.

Ah that's a pain, in which case the likelihood of fitting an aftermarket stick in minimal

You can get one to fit surely, you'd just have to get or make a shift boot to replace the one you'll be missing. 

Fabrication is most likely the way to go! I find mine to be just right but then, I suppose it depends on where you position your seat, your own hight, arm length, etc.
