When I started up this morning the infotainment and computer screens, internal lights and fan switches etc were only operating at 5% power. Thought it was a fuse but all is working ok but can't see them. Can't get my mind round what it might be.

To be exact. Switching on - infotainment and computer screens are normal. As you start up they disappear down to 5%. I tried obvious things and then disconnected battery for 10 minutes. No change except some messages about driver aids not available. I am struggling to get a dealer to check it out quickly.

I would be  grateful for any observations or suggestions

Could be a faulty battery. I think, although might be wrong that the Car will reduce power to accessories to preserve battery power. Have you tested your battery.

Just out of interest, this 5% figure you quote - where does this come from?  You might have an issue that the brightness of all of the screens and system has been turned down to minimum level (Car->Settings->Lights and find Interior or Internal lighting) - if it is set at minimum you have your answer.

 

What happens if you leave the lights switch on AUTO?  Does it dim then?
