Featured Replies

I was going for some work in the morning.

Cold start and Rpm was good. I let the engine warm for some time. Then Took it out. While accelerating around 2k 3k ram the car jerked. I thought might be It was cold then again it missfires now after 2 3 days its missfires a lot. The rpm becomes very unstable while acceleration.

 Pls help

hi,

whats the engine code of your car?

that will help the diagnosis :)

milage, age, when was last service, timing belt/ water pump replacement etc.

any other symptoms? do the revs stay stable when idling?

If the fuel filter has a drain tap, then drain off any water, which may be the reason behind the misfires.

If its been a long time since the fuel filter was changed, then change it.

AGR/ALH

Its a 16 year old car

74,000kms done

Last service was done around 68,000kms.

I tried changing the diesel filter but the problem didn't go

Revs stay stable when idle and drives perfect around 1k to 2k rpm after that it starts missfiring

Could you have contaminated fuel?

Another check is the T piece valve that fits in the top of the filter, check there is an O ring on the part under it that fits into the filter top. IIRC if this is missing, air is drawn in and causes running and starting issues.

You may need to scan the car for error codes.

Other thought; could the throttle pedal be playing up? This sounds like a symptom my car had for several months, ending with the throttle non-functional, limp mode and an EMS warning light.
