ticking noise

Featured Replies

Hi all:

I'm new to the forum and I really love it.

I have a Fabia Salon 2003.

I get this very low ticking noise inside the car chamber, rear seats, to the right when you are facing the steering.

The Skoda dealers never could fix it because they hardly hear. They thought in the begining it was generated from the lock of the rear seats, but I drove while it is open, and still the sound is there. It drives me crazy, like a hoze dropping water.

I looked everywhere, but nothing. Everything is fixed in the trunk, no loose objects.

Any Ideas guys????

With thanks

tried to remove headrests?

Hello thq1972 and welcome :)

Does the saloon have a boot cover? I notice mine seems to bounce slightly at one side when going over speed bumps etc, but I can't really say that it's a constant regular sound.

Does it still make the noise if someone is sitting on that seat? If so, they might be able to hear where it's coming from, or if not, then is it the seat fixing somehow that's stabilises with the person's weight.

Good luck.

You have a Fabia Salon eh? Good news, I could do with a trim

Just kidding! And welcome to Briskoda

Hi Guys and thanks for the replies. :)

I've attached a picture for my car.

If someone is sitting on the seat, it still makes that sound.

When I asked people to locate it while sitting there, they were confused of the source and were pointiong to the side shown on the picture.

Sometimes I think it is from the lining, but can't be sure.

U know, I just want it to be perfect :)

I'll try today with the head rests.

Thanks again again people.
