Featured Replies

Hi

I need the help of you lot ive recently left the world of vuaxhall and purchased a black02 skoda octavia vrs i want to know if i can get cruise control for this vehicle and if the wiring is already in place.

The car is not standard it now has 220bhp and other engine mods

Hope someone knows the answer Whoosh:confused:

Welcome to Briskoda. Yes, it is possible to get cruise control fitted. This involves a replacement indicator stalk with cruise control switches, a new wiring loom from the stalk to the fusebox, and another loom from the fusebox to the ECU. Try using Search and you will find a guide or 2 for DIY fitting.

Welcome to briskoda whoosh.

If you're in the Midlands or willing to travel, big_k on these forums performs cruise control installs. PM him for details.

i think someone on here did them .....Big K ? and maybe Awesome does ....... Sarah will be along shortly :D

Dont pay over £175 for it, the parts can be had for £20-£75 depending on the source and if you bother with the loom. Also, dont bother terminating the loom at the bulkhead - take it direct to the ECU.

That probably doesnt mean a lot to you so feel free to ask. I did my octavia 3 weeks ago for £25 and 3hrs of my own time, it works perfectly and would take much less time next time around.

I found the instructions a little daunting on paper but once you start its simple.

Take a look here: http://www.golfmk4.co.uk/cruise_control.htm

Hi

Yes it is possible as has been said.

The part numbers have changed , but any VAG dealer should be able to provide you with the kit.

The part number for the wiring loom has been superceeded though.

You will also need vagcom to enable it.

If you dont have it I am sure someone could do that from this helpfull forum.

We do it and we charge £175.00 + VAT

Hope that helps you a bit.

The wiring is the tricky thing.

The steering wheel has to come off too so you will have to disarm the air bag.

But as they have said , if you have a bit of techy ability you should be ok

Sarah

You dont even need that loom for the 1.8T. Just use the wiring diagram and some 4 core cable to go from the stalk to the ECU and another single wire to give 12v to the stalk. If you can read the wiring diagram its easy (and thats not hard, just like reading a map.)
