Hi,

I have noticed that on my previous car (Ford Fiesta) the speedoLCD display had been illuminated once the ignition was switched on and further brightness was added if light switch was switched on. On the Fabia vRS - only notice the LCD displays being illuminated if light is switched on - is this normal on Skodas?

normal skoda, one of the reasons I run my sidelights if overcast etc, the black on grey is not the easiest to read IMO.

IIRC.. this can be altered with VAGCOM.. Audi have the dashlights on when the ignition is on.. as did the demonstrator vRS i drove..

Does that mean the factory settings were wrong? or this is something I need to ask a Skoda dealer as a specific request?

with the vRS it can dissapear in the silver dials depending on the time of day so can be annoying

Well, if they want to run an official site that is as open & honest as this one, then I'd be happy with that. But seeing as there isn't, I'd have thought they would be pleased that people are interested enough in Skoda to spend time running a forum....
