Featured Replies

Apologies if I have put this on the wrong thread... I have ordered a new Karoq Edition.. I have been told the build week is week 33... Any idea (with this in mind) when I will actually get the car? I should know the process by now but have forgotten.. Many thanks.

  • Well... it has finally arrived. 5 and a half months after ordering and 4 and a half months after being built, we picked up our Karoq on Saturday. This time we treated ourselves to the electr

  • Good news!! My car is at the dealers ready to be collected on Friday.. !!! I am beyond excited.

  • I just got an exciting update from Skoda. Apparently my car has now been built and is on a ship underway to Australia. The ETA for delivery has been stated as 14th July 2022. That is almost exactly 11

I'd say about a month or so after it's built, but it could be a little longer with the current shortage of HGV drivers.

May I ask when you ordered the car? I ordered a new Karoq 3 weeks ago and was quoted 5 months until estimated delivery.

Delays can be expected.

I ordered on 2nd August, but it was one of these that the garage already had on order. although when I asked yesterday what stage it was at he said it was 'just a piece of paper currently'..  I really do not understand this whole process, but the dealership are amazing and trust them completely..

........ and in fairness, if I had ordered all the 'bells and whistles' that I wanted I was told that the wait could be as long as five months.. So I shall (in time) get things like the Virtual Cockpit/fancy boot opening thingy/ etc etc retro fitted once I have the car..

...... and (finally), the most important things to me were the Edition model, colour (Petrol Blue) and the beige Leather upholstery which is what this car on order had.. Cannot wait to post a picture when it finally arrives..

Build week 33 is next week, so hopefully it won't be a piece of paper for long! It sounds like the dealer had already ordered the car or, more likely, grabbed a car already allocated to the UK but not a specific dealer. I was offered a car that was in production but the spec was totally different to what I wanted.

Don't count on being able to retrofit every option after you take delivery. Things that can be activated in software are one thing, but major changes to the hardware may not be possible. If the car doesn't have all your must haves, I recommend you speak to the dealer

Sounds like a fantastic spec. I went for Petrol Blue too. Sadly the leather is beyond my reach, but yours is a great combination!

VAG are having issues with computer chips apparently 🙃

All manufacturers are having issues with the supply of chips.

Interesting issue today. This doesn't bode well. I ordered a Karoq on 25th May. I had a build week quoted when I called in on a different matter. This morning I used the Skoda website chat function to find out when my car may be available. The chap I was chatting to couldn't find my name on the system. He asked the name of the dealer and they said they didn't have an order in my name. After supplying more info, it turned out that somehow they had ordered with the correct surname but an incorrect first name. Now awaiting a call to correct the info.

I always open my chat conversations with the order number... this helps avoid the sort of issue you mention.

Is your car on order from Heritage Yeovil?

I am 3 months ahead of you in terms or order date.

No sign of mine coming any day soon or later...

No it is not Heritage Yeovil. I did eventually find my order number, which is how the incorrect name was found. The dealer called pretty quickly and sorted the issue. I then went back to the chat and got the update I needed. Car started week of 12th July, but still in production, presumably waiting for chips. Then a surprise. I was phoned by the first person  chatted to, checking everything was resolved. Very nice man!

I believe the wait time is over 20 weeks , that's from my dealer

When I ordered it was supposedly 12-16 weeks, so delivery end August to end September. 5 months is what I'm expecting from everything I've read. That makes it end of October, but the last I heard from the dealer was end September, early October. No big issue for me as I'm in no great hurry.

My car is apparently meant to be built this week 33 (confirmed by Skoda chat), I keep waiting for the ping of the tracking email to pop into my inbox, but I am not getting my hopes up as I don't know how timely those emails really are.

How do you get a tracking email?

About 3 days after the order was placed at the dealers, I had an email directly from Skoda. Says something like "thanks for your order, we ill shortly be building your car" and you get a primitive set of statues.

With VW or Audi I think you can go to their sites, put your order number in and it comes up, but Skoda send you updates. This is mine - hoping for an updated one this week:

I've searched my inbox. I seem to recall seeing something like that but I can't find it now. What address was it sent from?

Oh I really want these updates - I have never had them.... any idea how I go about it please.. Many thanks.

janewalker55 - We had the initial order email from Skoda UK on our factory build, but thereafter we had a near weekly progress update email from the dealer. Don't recall getting further progress emails direct from Skoda UK though. You should ask your dealer to give you progress updates - I don't think Skoda UK will give you anything as it sounds like the car order was made by the dealer themselves, to go into stock, and therefore in Skoda UK's records the order won't be in your name. The dealer will, however, be getting updates on ''their'' order which they can pass on to you.

Thanks VRT24 - My dealer did actually phone me on Saturday to say that he has had a confirmation of the build in week 33, which was last week (I presumed it was anyway!) and this is a 'good thing'.. So he thinks we are still on for the end of September..  He even let me choose my registration plate.. Very disappointed they didn't have my actual initials. !!

.... I should add, when I say he let me choose my registration plate, I do mean only the last three letters obvs!!!!

I hope that things are on track.  My order for a Petrol Blue 1.5 SEL DSG with virtual cockpit, Trinity alloy wheels and spare wheel is supposed to be build week 34 (this week)!

When I tried that last year I was told that it was no longer possible and that the letters were assigned as next in Queue!!
