They are 7Jx17 ET40 which is the official winter rim size for fitting chains etc.

Wearing cross climates at the moment. More than up to the job with 4x4 as well.

Pne more question, 215/55/17 or215/65/17? VW seems to be 215/65/17 but Skoda's 215/55/17 from what I can see. Going from 235/40/19 to 215/65/17 looks like the speedo would be incorrect

So …. Change of mind and got some 2h Audi 17” rims. These and the 225/55/17 101W Michelin CrossClimate 2 new tyres are down at the tyre centre waiting to be fitted. Head ruled over heart … my lovely grey 19” trinity (?) wheels with almost new Falken tyres will be up for sale soon assuming all goes well.

once fitted, let us know if it was worth it or if it was a waste of your hard earned £££,

Current Superb Wheel and tyre size (taken from German brochure)

215/60 R16 tyres on 6.5J x 16 wheels

215/55 R17 tyres on 7.0J x 17 wheels

235/45 R18 tyres on 8.0J x 18 wheels

235/40 R19 tyres on 19 inch wheels

therefore not 215/65

Early days … v pleased with wheel condition & initial driving around is very pleasant. Tyres all at 39 psi, an eco level slightly up from the light load 36 psi. Not  “tested” grip in the wet. 4 wheel alignment tomorrow, so best hold off until completed.
Tyres & wheels combo looks “ok’ish” but miles away from the great look of the 19” Skoda ones have to admit.
Btw, anyone else thinking of getting Audi wheels beware their Heinz57 approach to wheel cap designs & sizes. Only got confirmed mine take the spyder version which covers both centre & wheelbolt heads … at £44, EACH from Audi. Even then there seem to be 2 sizes of centre void … hoping the Chinese clone version arriving from China in early December will fit but at £20 for a set, not end of the world if they don’t!

Btw, the Audi wheels were off a Q3 & I did check comparative vehicle weights before going ahead … the Q3 being slightly heavier. @ 7J & ET43 very close to Skoda’s, so technically a pretty good fit.

Will try to remember to post a photo when wheelcentre caps of some sort are fitted.

Interesting … 4 wheel alignment completed  yesterday … bit of a saga & described here …

All that is left is to get some decent wheel caps for the Audi wheels & sort out selling the very pretty 19” Trinity  ones shod with almost new Falkens!

The car rides wonderfully btw on the 7J rims & 225/55 profile Cross Climate 2 rubber @39psi all round.
