E10 Fuel in a 2021 vRS 2.0 Petrol?

Featured Replies

I've got a petrol vRS due towards the end of the year and i'm curious about what fuel it will need.  I know Golf GTI owners that run regular unleaded without any issues but i'm not sure if the change to move to E10 will impact this.  Are there any vRS owners out there that can provide some feedback on the different fuel types?

My car is a 2021 Octavia VRS Wagon with the 2.0 litre (180kw) petrol engine.

As you can see from the info in the filler cap it requires a minimum of 95RON.

Here in Australia the E10 stuff is only 94RON so we need to get "Premium Unleaded 95".

Of course you might think that 94 is close enough and you may be right.

I fill up with the 95, even though it costs more. At my local service station today the prices are:
Ethanol 94 (E10): $1.729 per litre

Premium 95: $1.879 per litre

Premium 98: $1.959 per litre

Perhaps worth using this existing thread instead, as it's better to have the information in one place rather than many:

Threads in the General Automotive chat section.  News articles are quite clear on the 2011 date.   As it is with GTI,s and R,s VW recommended 98 Ron on their FAQ what fuel web page.    But the UK only has had 97 or 99 Ron super unleaded for years now.     So E5 super unleaded if you want, or E10 it is.

My local supermarket fuel is £1.34 per litre for standard E10

As above, please direct all posts to the E10 thread mentioned.

I'm going to lock this thread so we don't have a proliforation of threads on the same subject.
