E10 petrol.

Featured Replies

I am a bit confused as to which petrol engines are OK with the new edition of E10 fuel.

Is a 64 Reg Citigo OK, or are the fuel pipes likely to disintegrate.

I did have a fuel pipe do so on a microlight I owned some years ago, but that was from using unleaded fuel with a tube designed for leaded.

Thanks.

Reading the articles in the UK media it seamed unbelievable that drivers could be confused if they had actually looked at what had been said about E10 being introduced to the UK in 2021.

http://bbc.co.uk/news/business-58398606  Nonsense headline from the BBC on a quarter being 'baffled'.

'But according to the RAC, 24% were unaware of it while 27% do not know if their car is compatible'.

That could only be 27% of those that were aware as those unaware could not be baffled until made aware.

THE RAC IS NOT THAT HELPFUL ON ASSISTING PEOPLES KNOWLEDGE OR AWARENESS BUT THEN THEY ARE A BUSINESS NOT A 'CLUB'.

I'm an Isle of Man resident and therefore not part of the UK - it's a Crown Dependency.

There are no plans to introduce E10 compliant fuels in the island.

We're told the E10 additive is blended with the base fuel at the refinery and that this additional process won't be completed prior to shipment across the Irish Sea.

This info may allay concerns with fellow residents.  Thanks.
