TPMS

Featured Replies

I know it’s sad, but I have been looking at the online owners manual to check on any differences on my awaited facelift Kodiaq.

The manual make reference to direct tyre pressure monitoring, does anybody know if Skoda have now changed from the indirect system, or if the direct system is an option perhaps in other countries, the online manual is a bit vague.

The manual does cover multiple markets... but the standard specification (on the VRS, at least) does list:

Tyre pressure monitor system

I have no idea what it listed before, or if that means direct rather than indirect.

Unless it's specifically optioned on the car, or was ordered with the 20" Ignite alloys (MY21 onwards) then it will 99% be indirect tyre pressure monitoring.

Thanks, whilst  it would be nice to have the direct system, I really want  the indirect as it will make fitting my current winter wheels no problem.

Ignite alloys?

We don't get an option over here in the UK - we get 20" Sagitarius alloys (the ones with the aero covers) as standard.

Yeah it’s an option available in other markets. They’re physically wider, not sure if that’s got to do with why direct TPMS is bundled with it.

I retrofitted the direct one to my MY18 Kodiaq.  I don't think it was worth the effort in the end.

It was made worse by me purchasing Chinese aftermarket tyre sensors instead of OEM Huf units and I've had to replace 3 out of the 4 so far.  They fail and read zero PSI, so I'd be driving along and then loud beep, flashing tyre display and a big fat zero.

If it was a factory option for a reasonable price, I'd go for it but wouldn't do the retrofit again, I'd just buy one of those Steelmate Korean valve stem thingies that I have in the old Superb which has been faultless since 2013, other than battery changes.

Well, to answer my own question, my newly arrived facelift Sportline does appear to have the direct tyre pressure monitoring system.

Which leads to a question, it looks like I will need to purchase wheel sensors for my winter wheels.

Have found these which say the come coded ready to fit, are there other options available?

It does...? Which option did you tick to get that?

Will do, it’s exactly as picture from handbook as in my original post, with individual tyre pressures indicated.

I didn’t opt anything. As per my original post, I didn’t really want it as it makes swapping to my winter wheels  without sensors a problem now.

I didn't get the direct system either Yogi (my build being apparently November 21).

Thank you Kenny, i wish i had this vice the indirect on my August Ordered, December Built VRS.

I had direct on my Insignia and found it very useful.
