Hello !

My car has the coming/leaving home function already installed and activated from the factory.
The problem is that it is the Xenon low beam that lights up.
(The fog light does not come on.)

❓  Is it possible to code with VCDS and change/switch function so that it is the fog lights that are lit and the low beam not come on ?  ❓

What does IIRC mean ?

IIRC means "if I recall correctly".

 

As for how to do this...

 

go to 09 (central electronics) then change the coding/long coding.

 

There will be a series of hexidecimal fields value would be anywhere from 00-FF IIRC.  The 17th or 18th one along will probably have some check boxes below where you can enable the function.

Remember to take note of any changes you make.

 

If you are still quite new to this - look up some VCDS tutorial videos on youtube and don't do something you're not confident doing and understand that there are risks involved (that could result in you breaking something).

The coding is behind the 00 mask for a good reason - to stop folk playing around with it.

 

Accessing the 00 mask, and changing anything in there is a dangerous thing to do - nobody knows what the coding is in there, and if it goes wrong, returning the coding to 00 WILL NOT restore the coding to the original, and will cause all sorts of issues. The member concerned attempted recoding for rear DRLs but what he thought was the correct coding didn't work - and re-entering a 00 code has not restored it to what it was. He now has one rear tail light and one reversing light permanently on with the ignition and the car will no doubt have to go into the dealers to have things reset.
