Sunroof fault

Hello Friends

All of a sudden my sunroof made such a cracking noise and stopped midway. It was raining and I used manual force and closed the opening.

It was not perfect and allowing wind entry.

Back home I found the worm cable out of the track (picture 1)  and fixed the cable into the track and reset the roof with help from a headliner mechanic (picture 2) 

The motor is fine and also the cable moves into the track freely. I see no issues

Now the roof is set and wind noise is reduced. I disconnected the motor fearing issues again. 

I am too afraid to use the roof again

Any suggestions from the forum here ?
