bumper fender defect?

Featured Replies

Hello,

Today i saw something on my left bumper fender (not sure if this is the name)

Here are some pics of the defect and some from the other side for comparison

I got the car before 1 month and i have 1000 km already on.

Should i contact service about this defect?

I would go back to the dealer. It’s clearly a fault with the fixing/adhesive they use to secure the part.

Clearly?

It looks to be the lower part of the wheelarch that is deformed inwards to my eyes especially when compared with the other side. The plastic trim seems in alignment with the sill trim as on the good side.

Report anything ASAP that is a fault.  Be sure the right person that deals with Warranties is aware at a branch.

(They need to be logging the faults and making Skoda in whichever country but especially Skoda CZ aware.)

The Warranty T&C's is 6 months / 6.500 miles on panel fit etc.

They are now saying that for Rattles etc from poor build quality and poor workmanship, so never hesitate or put off reporting faults.

Skoda / VW Group should want to know about 'Snagging faults / build issues / material, design or factory faults. Then deal with them.

I went to them. They fixed the plastic, but it turned out that it was due to a blow on the fender (slightly higher than the plastic) can only be seen in the light. They didn't want to guarantee it. I was told to take it as insurance damage. I have a picture of the curved plastic even on the day of the acceptance of the car. It is my fault that I see the problem only now. I wrote an email to the dealer, but I don't have high hopes 😞
Guys carefully look at you car before you accept it!

Are they saying you got a perfect car and the damage occurred after hand over to you.

Their PDI and the cleaners never spotted anything wrong and neither did you at hand over!

What do they want you to claim off your insurance,

for a repair to the area where there was a blow and for a 'Approved repairer to do bodywork'. ?

Repairs are to be carried out by Approved Repairers as per the Manufacturers Warranty.

Are they saying they just did a straightening of the trim and further work needs doing and that has nothing to do with them?

Surely they are not saying the Manufacturers Warranty is not valid for Paint or the Corrosion warranty until further repairs are carried out and they have just done a favour

straightening the trim as best they could.
