Ordered my Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

It should be arriving on 25th hopefully to ballards lane in finchley, a few things i wanted to ask... I dont plan on modifying my car in anyway, but just a few no abouts. Would a pd160 intake and trumpet effect my warranty? And something i have not been able to find. How many miles should be run in on the Skoda before chipping is safe to commence. Dont want to harm or ruin my new car in anyway, and yes... I know chipping will void my warranty, just curiosity. I tried searching, but couldnt find anything in relation.

Thanks

Hope you enjoy it:thumbup:

There's been several threads discussing the consequences of modding. The official stance is ANY changes from standard specification will void any warranty claim on related components.

However it does seem to depend on how co-operative your dealer is. Some dealers have been selling openly modded cars but would they still support the cars warrenty?

To be honest until you put in a claim your never gonna know.

My preference for running in before modding would be as long as possible! Some people have done it after only a few thousand but i'd recommend nearer 10k just to allow the engine to bed in properly and start to operate normally having gone past the early wearing-in period. These engines do seem to get better with age!

Of course this is all theoretical then;)

Thanks for your input, i was thinking about roughly 5,000 miles, but i see your theory and point. I'll let it go to nearer the 10,000 mark then!
