Citigo Left Sidleights

Featured Replies

A friend of mines daughter left hand front sidleight bulb popped. After replacement ( correct bulb ) it still didnt work. He asked me to look as he said he had checked the fuses etc. So I did.

It is a non stop start citigo 2016. I have checked all the fuses as I have heard that there can be two for each side of the sidleights but no joy. I have no feed to the left side fuse 13 or 14 from memory and if the fuse is fed the lights work. I am sure there must be another fuse somewhere and have even checked the side panels on the dash but to no avail. Can someone tell me if there is another hidden fuse box somewhere or provide a wiring diagram. I have a fuse box diagram but not much else.

Thanks

Does the tail light on that side work?

If not I'd be checking/replacing fuse 23, I think. Should be 7.5A.

Having said that I'm not sure my info is sufficiently up-to-date. No harm looking though.

Hi wino. Thanks for the reply.

23 is labelled voltage stabiliser or vehicle lighting for non-stop start vehicles isnt it?. I am sure I have tested the back of it for power on both ends several times but tbh I havent actualy replaced it so I will give that a go. Its gotta be something like that. Its not as though it can throw the can-bus or a relay is it.

I've no idea what it's labelled as in your car, but the fuse info table I'm looking at says

" Fuse 23 on fuse holder C -SC23- 7.5A Side light bulb, left -M1- 58 Tail light bulb, left -M4-"

So does the left tail light work or not?

Wino's point is that the left tail light and left sidelight use the same fuse, so if the tail light works, it's not the fuse.

Here's my fusebox from under the dash, it may not be the same as yours....

Sorry my fault. The whole of the left hand side is not working.

I have checked and replaced fuse 23 and 13. I have power to and from 23 but nothing to 13. I presume it goes from 23 which is continous live feed through the switch to 13 but I dont have a wiring diagram so cannot be sure. I am beginning to think that theres a break somewhere or possible even switch fault. Why on earth they were working before the bulb blew then not after is a mystery as Ive seen bulb blow fuses before but not much else in simple systems.

Btw when I say the whole of the left hand side I meant the side lights. All the rest does work. Its def a feed problem to fuse 13 though.

I doubt it, that appears to be for dipped beam.

Wiring goes like this for the left sidelights.

Switch > Fuse 23 > grey/black wire to a junction/splice where it splits into two. Both grey/black wires, to front side and rear tail lamps on the left side.

Possible explanations that come to mind: Poor or broken contact at one or other end of the fuse holder. Broken wire between output of fuse and junction point where it splits into two wires.

Thanks for the info. I have powered fuse 13 and the left sidelights then come one. Fuse 23 is constantly live whether switch is on sides or not. Fuse 14 (right side sidelights) powers up when you put the sidelights on whereas fuse 13 doesnt. Thats what makes me think its a feed fault to or most likely from the switch. I think I need a wiring diagram to check at different points to see where the failure is.

Well I can only speculate that I don't have correct info in front of me for your car, or you are not looking at the right fuse. Probably the former.

Do you have two rows of miniblade fuses above a single row of standard blade fuses?  23 being on second row, 6th in from left? Is it a 7.5A one?

23 is indeed 6th from the left and 7.5A.

The bottom row is half mini and half normal. Ive seen at least 3/4 different configurations of fuses in my research. Ive managed to download wiring diagrams up to 2015 and it does show that fuse 13 is a headlamp bulb. But I have got a fusebox diagram of 2016- and it says lighting left side on fuse 13 and right side fuse 14 which sort of lines up with what I have. Ie 14 right sidelights and 13 left sidelights. 23 Showing as voltage stabiliser (for start start system) or vehicle lighting if not.

That bottom row description confirms that I don't have the right info, sorry.

I guess you could go on erWin Skoda, download every Citigo wiring pdf (will cost you a tenner approx for an hour's access) and hope the right info is in one of them, but I can't help you further.
