Can't update SATNAV

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm having touble updating the satnav on my mkiii superb L&K. I formatted the SD card then downloaded the correct files, unzipped them and tried the SD card in both slots. I keep getting the attached message saying there is an error/no files. Feel I'm missing something simple. Any advice would be appreciated.

Ps sorry if this is a common question, I did have a search but didn't find an answer.

Cheers

Rick

This may be a dumb question, but have you tried to start the update from within the navigation menu?

I had trouble with getting mine to update (2019 sportline plus) it got halfway through the first go and that was it, lost the navigation completely. I re-downloaded the files (took a few attempts as it kept failing), reformatted the SD card (this time with NTFS), popped the card in, started the car up, then under the vehicle settings performed the update (couldn't do it from within the navigation as it was corrupt) and crossed my fingers. After about 20 mins all was good again (thank God!).

Not sure if any of that will help your situation, but hopefully it might help.

Cheers,

Matt

Are you a Mac user?

Hi Harvey, I was struggling too. Just before I was going to give up, I read this advice from somebody on the forum: after unzipping file to your card you should have there in the root directory there files: Mib1, Mib2 and metainfo2. Nothing more. It worked for me after about 2 weeks of desperation.

Ah, thanks Matt. I have tried from inside the Nav, wasn't sure of another way, will take a look under settings. I did reformat the card but will try NTFS too. 👍

Hi, thanks for the info, will take a look. So delete any files other than what's mentioned above. I do have the radio station update too so maybe that's an issue.
